She taught Carnegie Mellon University undergraduates in the university’s offices on Capitol Hill and also managed the academic program. Before that, she worked at the Pacific Council as a member from 1998 to 2013. From 1999 to 2002, she served as an Assistant Professor at Hamilton College where she taught international relations. Finally, she served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at UCLA from 1994 to 1998. She conducted archival research and studied theoretical international relations at the Reagan Library.
